Leicester assistant manager Chris Davies believes that Youri Tielemans can still improve even further after the midfielder helped his side beat Burton Albion 3-1 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Following a successful loan spell at the King Power Stadium for the second half of last season Leicester signed the 22-year-old permanently over the summer for a fee of around £40m, and he has been impressive again during the current campaign.
He scored one and created an assist in the win over Burton, and has now recorded four goals and three assists in his last six games for the Foxes.
Davies praised the Belgian international after the game, but insisted he will continue to get better.
“Youri’s an excellent player,” Davies said. “He’s a pleasure to work with, he’s got a top-level mentality in the way he approaches the game.
“Everything that Youri does is quality: the way he lives his life, the way he focuses, tactically, his intelligence on the pitch, the way he can solve problems on the pitch, he’s very coachable, he’s a good team-mate.
“He’s got a lot of qualities. And there’s more to come from Youri. He will get better. You saw his power in the first half, driving away from people, setting up the goal. He was excellent.
“With Youri he’s got this real focus. He’s in the gym, he’s doing his work, he’s preparing his body constantly for competition. Hopefully his good form can continue and he can develop even more.”
Leicester have now won six of their last seven games and are starting to be talked about as genuine contenders for silverware this season.
They next take on Crystal Palace on Sunday hoping to carry on their sensational Premier League form, where they have scored 17 goals in their last four matches.
