Women say they were flown to Nigeria instead of Portugal – but people aren’t convinced

TWO women revealed their shock after ‘booking flights to Portugal’ – but ending up in a different country.

Most holidaymakers carefully plan out every detail of their trip, making sure that their flights are correctly booked.

Two friends revealed that their holiday plans might not have panned out the way that they had intended

But in a tongue-in-cheek video posted on TikTok, the two friends revealed that their holiday plans might not have panned out the way they had intended.

TikTok user Zoë, who is known as zndoyle on the social media platform, recently posted a video about her accidental trip.

In the video, the two friends can be seen sitting in the departures hall of an airport.

The footage then showed them arriving at another airport, which turned out to be Lagos Airport in Nigeria.

While this may seem like a normal travel day, a caption over the video read: “POV you thought you booked flights to Portugal.”

The video leads other viewers to believe that the two friends wanted to go to Lagos, Portugal, instead of Lagos, Nigeria.

The two destinations are a whopping 3,400 miles apart.

Despite only being posted two days ago, the video has already had 1.9 million views on the social media platform.

But some people in the comments didn’t believe the blunder was a real mistake.

In the comments, one person pointed out that the nearest airport to Lagos, Portugal is Faro.

While another added: “Of course, the video is fake, except for a few African countries pre-arranged visa is required for anyone who enters Nigeria.”

The GOV UK website states: “You will need a valid visa to enter or travel through Nigeria as a visitor.

“Some business travellers might be eligible to apply for a visa on arrival.

“Applications for a visa on arrival must be made in advance and applicants must obtain a pre-approval letter from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) before travelling.”

According to the Nigerian authorities, visas on arrival can only be obtained by business travellers who are in the country to attend networking events or conferences.

Other users questioned how the pair booked flights to Nigeria when they intended to go to Portugal.

One person wrote: “I mean they show the destination before you board. Announce it on the plane. I’m just unsure how this actually ever happens lol.”

Another added: “Did you not check the confirmation email?”

Someone else wrote: “How does that happen? Didn’t you look at the landing airport?”

A third said: “I mean they show the destination before you board, and announce it on the plane, so I’m just unsure how this happens.”

Despite the confusion surrounding the video, several users encouraged the two friends to have a good time.

Whether the video is genuine or not, it has certainly caused a stir among users on TikTok.

But this isn’t the first time two holidaymakers have ended up in the wrong place.

Earlier this year, TikTok user SopheAlice spotted something wrong with her flight when she was at the boarding gate

Instead of flying to Budapest, she’d actually booked flights to Bucharest, Romania – another capital city some 520 miles away.

Meanwhile, another Ryanair passenger missed their flight after boarding the wrong plane.

And a grandma missed her grandson’s wedding after flying to Poland by mistake.

Because the two destinations are 3,400 miles apart, many people in the comments didn't believe the blunder
