Woman’s ‘hot take’ on reclining during flight slammed by passengers

A WOMAN has been slammed by passengers and TikTokers for her “hot take” on reclining seats during a flight.

Kylie took to TikTok to share her frustration and has divided the internet with a video clip which has racked up more than 300,000 likes.

The clip is captioned: “Hot take: Seats shouldn’t recline on an airplane,” and shows a passenger scrunched up with with very little leg room.

It then scans around the cabin to show more passengers in the same uncomfortable position while others kick back and relax in their reclined chairs.

Kylie has been slammed by fellow TikTokers in the comments section to her video.

One person wrote: “I don’t get it? I’ve never been remotely bothered by the person in front of me reclining LMAO.”

Another said: “Hot take-I’m not sitting at a 90* angle for an overnight flight. If you want more space buy a first class ticket.”

However, others supported Kylie and agreed with her.

A third person added: “I purposely don’t recline my seat.

“I think it’s rude for the person behind me. Ever try to get up or use a laptop when the seat in front is reclined?”

A fourth shared a horrifying experience they had when the person in front of them reclined their chair.

They recalled: “I had a man recline onto a reasonably fresh surgery scar down my knee and when I asked him to not recline I was told he’s well within his right to recline.

“I spent my entire flight in pain.”

For those who are anti seat reclining, in November we told of a magic phrase to stop the person infront putting their chair back.

There are ways in which passengers can get the flight attendants to intervene and either prevent the person in front from reclining, or move you to a comfier seat.

Sun Online Travel’s resident flight attendant explained that if you tell the cabin crew you need to stretch out for a medical condition, they will ask the people in front to put their seat back up, or move you elsewhere.

And another traveller revealed the “evil” way she stops people reclining in the seat in front of her on planes.

In a radio show in Australia, one caller rang in to explain how she makes sure the person sitting in front of her quickly regrets reclining their seat, if they choose to do so.
