He drives an Audi R8 in the Marvel blockbusters instead of a Lamborghini Huracan.

Same bones underneath, of course, but the Huracan is higher in the pecking order.

Now Lambo has dropped its biggest hint yet by putting Iron Man’s heart in the new £2.5million Sian.

I’m talking about that glow-up “supercap” badge between the seats.

It does serve an actual purpose though, because it crowns the electric power source for Lambo’s first hybrid supercar.

It’s complicated but I think I’ve got my head around it.

Rather than use a lithium-ion battery pack like everyone else, Lambo has adopted what’s called a supercapacitor. It’s smaller and lighter and can’t hold as much energy but it doesn’t need to because it discharges and recharges instantly.

So it boosts the already insane 785hp V12 by another 34 horsies when you floor it and then tops itself up every time you brake. Ready to go again. Clever.

The result being, 819 horses and the fastest and most powerful Lambo ever.

You’ll see it on Top Gear next Sunday but I can tell you this: My God, it goes.

It scrambles your eggs.

As for the noise, you can hear that glorious naturally-aspirated V12 from five miles away. Looks? Extraterrestrial. Cabin? Like a flight deck. It is everything a Lamborghini should be.

When I’m old and my brain is on one per cent and airplane mode, this is one of the few cars I’ll remember. It’s that good. Now we should perhaps discuss the name. Sian is pronounced See-an and not Shahn, the Welsh for Jane. It means flash or lightning in Bolognese dialect. Which is apt.

The “63” on the rear fins refer to 1963, the year Lamborghini was born, and all 63 cars were sold before the car was even unveiled. At a staggering £2.5million a pop.

Note. This car is actually the prototype and has a little gold plaque saying “00 di 63” under the central touchscreen.

Which means it’s worth a lot more than £2.5million and will end up in the Lamborghini museum.

DRAMATIC

Now some of you might scoff and say: “Yeah, nice car but it’s just a reskinned, electrified Aventador using 3D-printed parts.” And you’d be right.

But after spending an afternoon in it, I absolutely would if I had the money.

It’s a special car. Rare and deranged and dramatic and the first of a new breed of Raging Bulls.

Now let’s pause for a moment and drink in that rear end. The wing. The lights. The tyres. How wide?

If this car stopped on your street, it’d be pandemonium. Like Come On Eileen at the end of a disco.

So imagine how exciting it is to strap yourself in, fire up that angry engine and light the afterburners. I’m glad I didn’t bend it.

Driving a Lamborghini Sian doesn’t make you a hero. But it makes you feel like one. Time for an upgrade, Mr Stark.
