Water bill cost: Will YOUR water bill go up? Ofwat makes Covid debt decision


In industry terms, bad debt forms when a business cannot collect receivables because customers cannot pay outstanding debts.

To reduce this type of debt, regulators have allowed retailers to increase utility prices.

From April next year, water companies will shoulder 25 percent of base debt costs where they exceed more than two percent of non-household revenue.

Non-household customers will bear the rest, and Ofwat made no mention of household customers.
