Watching winter rain

Winter rain, with its gentle patter against the panes, brings a unique joy and serenity. As the drops fall, they create a dhun that makes the sky turn into an aerial creature. If you’re brave enough to venture outside or on the balcony, the cold touch of each raindrop is a reminder of how the sky feels on a cold, winter’s day.

The bliss of winter rain lies in its transformative power, turning the dreary landscape into a glistening beauty. The drops cling to branches mostly shorn of leaves, fall on empty park benches, hogging the landscape once greedily occupied by people.

The winter rain leaves crystals all over, creating a reflective sheen on the streets, turning ordinary footpaths into a darker shade of grey. It’s as if nature itself has put on cold cream.

Winter rain also brings the pleasure of cosy retreats. The rhythmic tapping on the roof becomes a metronome, inviting you to wrap yourself in a warm blanket, sip on a hot beverage or something stronger.

Winter rain is the perfect soundtrack to lose yourself in a good novel. The scent of petrichor permeates the air, creating a joy that makes the chill worthwhile.
