ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) — More jobs and more choices for people in Enterprise. That’s because a shopping center on Boll Weevil Circle is under new ownership.
The company is Moore Company Realty has recently purchased what’s been named Dauphin Plaza
The owner tells WTVY that Enterprise is a hidden jewel and construction is already underway at Dauphin Plaza.
“We’ve been waiting for this to happen for quite some time,” said Hoa Mai, Golden Nail and Hair Salon Too Owner.
Hoa Mai has been operating the salon here for nine years. He’s called Enterprise home for twenty years – and is happy with the change.
“I think it will bring a lot more customers to the business,” said Mai.
Jerome Moore, the new owner of the shopping center, is doing work inside and out with improvements to recruit new tenants.
“They are going to be investing in the community and they are going to be here to watch their investment flourish so that’s good,” Jonathan Tullos, Wiregrass Economic Development Director said.
That investment could include new restaurants, a brewery, and open green spaces for kids and families.
The City of Enterprise is also moving a nearby water tower to improve water pressure with a bigger well and it will make space for more businesses.
“It’s been one of those communities that continues to diversify and grow. We’ve been able to attract new industry and even bring people back who are looking to retire and live a better quality of life,” said Tullos.
Chris Austen is from Opp and works and shops in Enterprise. He’s excited about the future
“It’s amazing that Enterprise is growing the way it is,” said Austen.
Jerome Moore also tells me he hopes this development phase will be done by the fall. The construction will create jobs along with the new businesses. He also tells us that part of his design for the area suggested extending the service road – making another entrance into the area to ease traffic congestion, but that improvement would involve state funding and so far, no decision on that.
