Investing.com – U.S. equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NYSE, the lost 1.30% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index declined 1.89%, and the index declined 2.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:), which rose 0.58% or 1.46 points to trade at 254.59 at the close. Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) added 0.38% or 0.62 points to end at 162.62 and Nike Inc (NYSE:) was up 0.15% or 0.22 points to 142.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Walt Disney Company (NYSE:), which lost 6.94% or 10.24 points to trade at 137.38 in late trade. Boeing Co (NYSE:) declined 4.09% or 8.75 points to end at 205.44 and Visa Inc Class A (NYSE:) shed 3.93% or 8.42 points to 205.93.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were CF Industries Holdings Inc (NYSE:) which rose 2.64% to 66.00, Ventas Inc (NYSE:) which was up 2.22% to settle at 52.48 and VF Corporation (NYSE:) which gained 2.06% to close at 68.00.
The worst performers were Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 21.79% to 397.50 in late trade, SVB Financial Group (NASDAQ:) which lost 10.21% to settle at 581.76 and Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (NASDAQ:) which was down 8.99% to 15.18 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Blue Star Foods Corp (NASDAQ:) which rose 100.00% to 3.80, Pintec Technology Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 55.31% to settle at 1.3900 and CF Acquisition Corp V (NASDAQ:) which gained 31.31% to close at 12.330.
The worst performers were Oceanpal Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 52.50% to 0.56 in late trade, ReTo Eco-Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.10% to settle at 1.7400 and Renovare Environmental Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 24.70% to 0.5576 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2690 to 630 and 112 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 3244 fell and 728 advanced, while 150 ended unchanged on the New York Stock Exchange.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 12.74% to 28.85 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.36% or 6.70 to $1835.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.83% or 0.71 to hit $84.84 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.64 to trade at $87.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1344, while USD/JPY fell 0.35% to 113.69.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 95.620.
