The biggest gainers of the session on the were Tui AG (LON:), which rose 3.29% or 9.20 points to trade at 289.20 at the close. Sberbank Of Russia (LON:) added 2.97% or 0.34 points to end at 11.61 and Taylor Wimpey PLC (LON:) was up 2.42% or 2.55 points to 107.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:), which lost 6.62% or 9.30 points to trade at 131.25 in late trade. Compass Group PLC (LON:) declined 3.81% or 46.05 points to end at 1161.95 and Burberry Group PLC (LON:) shed 2.20% or 35.0 points to 1556.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1088 to 1051 and 60 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.59% or 11.25 to $1891.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.36% or 0.14 to hit $39.15 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.24 to trade at $41.32 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.11% to 1.2847, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.9117.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 94.102.
