Matic on the move?
Manchester United star Nemanja Matic only spent 24 minutes at the club’s Carrington training complex, according to The Sun, while first team players stayed behind for a light training session.
United’s stars were preparing for today’s Europa League game against Astana, with the match taking place in Kazakhstan.
But Matic’s swift exit will increase talk about his future amid links away from the club. Matic has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and has started just two Premier League games this term.
He was linked with Tottenham in the immediate aftermath of Jose Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham but could also go abroad.

Man Utd change transfer plans
Manchester United are no longer looking for a left-back after the impressive emergence of Brandon Williams.
That’s according to The Times, who report that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with the way the 19-year-old has repaid his faith.
Williams grabbed his first goal in the 3-3 draw at Sheffield United last Sunday.
Luke Shaw will face a fight to regain his spot in the United side.
Tottenham sent Kane warning
Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham have 18 months to keep Harry Kane.
The former Spurs boss believes Jose Mourinho will need to prove to the striker the club can win trophies.
“[Kane] needs to win something. So I think he’ll give it a period of time, certainly next season,” Sherwood told beIN Sports.
“The end of this season and next season and see if they can get closer to winning something. And if they don’t, then he will leave.”

Sancho to Liverpool backed
After last night’s 1-1 draw with Napoli, Jamie Carragher backed his former side to go out and sign Jadon Sancho.
“I think Liverpool still lack one player which is an attacking player to really support the front three and almost make it like a front four,” he told Viasport.
“At the moment there’s still a big difference when one of the front three don’t play.
“We saw that at the weekend again when Salah was out – that time Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played in the front three and that didn’t work. We’ve seen [Divock] Origi that doesn’t work.
“Maybe there’s talk of a man in the Bundesliga coming to England from Borussia Dortmund, maybe he’s someone who Liverpool may be looking at in Sancho who a lot of other Premier League clubs are looking at.
“There has been some great signings for Liverpool in the past [in January]. You think of [Virgil] van Dijk, Luis Suarez, Daniel Agger was a great player for Liverpool, Daniel Sturridge is another one.
“I would like to see an attacking player come in someone with a bit more quality, maybe someone who could help them in the coming months going forward.
“I don’t think it’s an area which Klopp really looks at but I would expect it to be a really big summer for Liverpool especially considering they didn’t sign anyone last summer.”

Liverpool in £111m talks
Liverpool are believed to be among seven clubs in negotiations for Kai Havertz.
The Reds are understood to be admirers of the German international who continues to shine with Bayer Leverkusen and Bild claim that Liverpool are one of seven clubs in talks over a £111m deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Unfortunately, they are not alone though, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City also interested in bringing him to the Premier League.
Havertz recently claimed that he would be willing to test himself in England or Spain.
“I think I’ve picked up enough international experience at Leverkusen,” he said.
“I know the rhythm of these international matches and I’m confident that I can go abroad at any moment and play at clubs outside of Germany.
“For the moment, I want to have a good season. Afterwards, we’ll see.”
Bruno Fernandes release clause hike
Bruno Fernandes has dealt Manchester United and Tottenham a blow, by extending his contract with Sporting.
The Portuguese star was the talk of the summer transfer window but a move to the Premier League failed to materialise.
Now he has all but ended United and Spurs’ hopes of a deal anytime soon, by extending his stay with the Primeira Liga club.
If either club do want to sign him, they will have to trigger his £85million release clause.
The new contract has seen the figure just up £20m from an initial £65m.

Sancho to snub Man Utd
Jadon Sancho will reportedly snub Manchester United in favour of a move to Spain.
The Daily Star claims that the winger is ready to move to La Liga, with Real Madrid or Barcelona his ideal choice of destination.
It comes as a blow to United and Liverpool, who are said to be in the race to sign him.
The Red Devils tried to bring him to Old Trafford last summer but failed to convince Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho was on the bench for Dortmund last night against Barcelona and came on to score.
It may be a glimpse of the future, with Barca said to be in the hunt for the England international.
Haaland bid ready
Manchester United are ready to table an official offer for Erling Braut Haaland, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian publication claims that an offer of £55million is being prepared.
Haaland struck again last night for Salzburg in their win at Genk.
He became the youngest ever player to score in fifth consecutive Champions League matches.
There has been speculation that RB Leipzig have an option to sign Haaland for £27.5million.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worked with the player at Molde and is hopeful he can lure him to Old Trafford
Jan Vertonghen u-turn
Jan Vertonghen is now reportedly open to signing a new contract at Tottenham.
The defender is apparently willing to discuss a new deal with the club according to Sky Sports.
He is one of several Spurs stars to feel revitalised following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
The Belgian will enter the final six months of his contract in January and will, therefore, be able to speak to other clubs.

Aubameyang to Barcelona
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future remains doubtful at Arsenal, reports say.
The Gabon international is stalling over a new deal due to the Gunners underwhelming form.
His contract is due to expire in the summer of 2021, leaving Arsenal sweating over his future.
According to the Daily Star, Barcelona and Real Madrid and ready to bring the striker to La Liga.
Barca are seeking a replacement for Luis Suarez, who is now 33 years old.
Unai Emery recently named Aubameyang the captain of Arsenal but it may not convince him to stay.
Soyuncu staying put
Caglar Soyuncu’s agent has dismissed talk the Leicester defender will be leaving the club.
He has recently been linked with a move to Manchester City and Arsenal, who are said to be impressed with his performances.
“After such performances in the Premier League, it is quite natural for transfer news to appear,” he said.
“Caglar now focuses on the success of the team. A transfer is neither on his nor the club’s agenda.
“I don’t know what’s going on in the future, but he’s thinking about his achievements at Leicester City and with the national team.”
