Dejan Kulusevski battle

Manchester United have fallen behind Inter Milan in the battle to sign Atalanta midfielder Dejan Kulusevski.

Kulusevski, who is enjoying a profitable loan spell with Parma, is reportedly available for £30million.

The Red Devils are hopeful of bringing the 19-year-old to Old Trafford but Italian publication Corriere della Serra claim Antonio Conte’s side are leading the charge.

It’s claimed the two clubs have agreed a £30m fee and Parma will able to keep Kulusevski until the end of the season.

No Paul Pogba approach

Juventus will not conduct any January business.

That’s according to the club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici, who says the Italian champions have a very competitive squad.

Juventus were expected to challenge for Old Trafford outcast Paul Pogba, who has been linked with a return to Turin.

“As I have already said several times, we have a very competitive and complete squad,” Paratici told Calciomercato. “We have Emre Can and we have Sami Khedira who will come back, so we have no intention of operating on the market.”

Aiden McGeady departure

Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson has told former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady he can find a new club in January.

The 33-year-old, who is under contract until the end of next season, was left on the bench for last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Gillingham.

It has been reported former Everton player McGeady had been involved in an incident at Sunderland’s training ground.

“We’ve spoke to Aiden about January and moving on and I think it’s fair to tell him now to give him an opportunity to sort something out,” Parkinson said.

Pedro to Barcelona?!

Pedro believes a stunning return to Barcelona is possible.

The Spanish winger spent nine successful seasons at the Nou Camp – winning three Champions League titles and countless domestic honours.

The 32-year-old’s contract expires in June 2020 and he looks surplus to requirements under Frank Lampard.

Asked whether Barcelona could be his next destination, Pedro told Cadena Ser Catalunya: “It’s an option that’s always there and that I hope could happen.”

Erling Haaland latest

RB Salzburg star Erling Haaland looks unlikely to join a Premier League club in the near future.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the Norwegian international, who has bagged 28 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.

But RB Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that Haaland visited Germany for transfer talks with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

“We are involved in all discussions,” Freund said. “Of course, we also knew that Haaland was in Leipzig and Dortmund yesterday.”

Jesse Lingard hint

Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has dropped a transfer hint by refusing to talk at length about a new contract.

Lingard is currently tied to the club until 2021, with the option of a further 12 months.

He has now stressed he’s happy at Old Trafford – but refused to rule out a move in the future.

Wanted: Sander Berge

Napoli are looking to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to the signing of Norway midfielder Sander Berge.

The Premier League duo have both been linked with the Genk star, who has earned plaudits for his Champions League displays this season.

However, Napoli have already made contact with Genk chiefs to discuss a potential transfer.

“We spoke to the Napoli directors about Berge today, but not only that,” Genk president Peter Croonen said. “We talked about our players and Napoli players, they expressed an appreciation for Berge, but we didn’t go beyond that.”

Saul Niguez valuation

Manchester United will have to shatter their transfer record to sign Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez.

That’s according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claims Atletico value Saul at a staggering £128million.

The Red Devils have been linked with the 25-year-old Spanish international, whose contract expires in June 2026.

The publication continue to claim that Ed Woodward and Co. are unlikely to sanction the deal unless Paul Pogba leaves the club for a bumper fee.

Takumi Minamino medical

Japan star Takumi Minamino will join Liverpool in January after the club agreed a £7.25million deal, subject to medical.

The Mirror claim the Reds beat Manchester United to his signature because they were aware of a clause in his contract – allowing him to leave for such a paltry figure – which their bitter Old Trafford rivals were oblivious to.

His club Salzburg extended the player’s deal to 2021 last February, but crucially conceded a get-out option which allows him to leave for a big European club at a price well below his market value of £25-30m.

He will undergo a medical in the coming weeks, and will also discuss personal terms. But it is understood the highly-rated attacking player is honoured that the current European champions want him, and is ready to sign.

Leicester transfer warning

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out any departures during the January transfer window as he looks to keep pace at the top of the Premier League.

The likes of England duo Ben Chilwell and James Maddison along with midfielder Wilfried Ndidi have all been touted as potential targets for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

“There will be nobody leaving in January, categorically,” Rodgers said. “It is really clear, we want to keep this squad together.

“It is an exciting team with growth and development in it, so we want to ensure they stay around beyond January.”

James Maddison alternative

Manchester United were eyeing Liverpool new boy Takumi Minamino as an alternative to Leicester’s James Maddison, according to reports.

Minamino is on his way to Merseyside in January after the Reds agreed a £7.25million deal.

But according to the Daily Mirror, United had been contemplating a move for the Japan international with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to add to his squad.

But they lost out because the Red Devils were oblivious to the fact the player, who can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, had such a clause in his contract.
