With West Ham slipping up to Brighton, Ryan Mason’s Spurs now have the chance to move into sixth with a victory against Nuno’s side.
Mason will be keen to avoid a place in the inaugural European Conference League which comes with a seventh-placed finish, with the 29-year-old reiterating his desire to make an impact before his next step elsewhere this summer: “I’m in this position where I’m representing this football club. I feel a massive obligation to feel that the whole organisation, the brand of Tottenham remains positive, stays positive and is ready to kick on next season.
“Absolutely, 100 per cent. We have a great group of players. We have one of the best training grounds in the world, one of the best stadiums.
“I feel like the structure is there for this football club to be very successful. We have three games in the next nine days which are very big in terms of where we are going to be next season and of course I want to help this group, help this football club not just in the next 10 days but also going forward as well.”
TOTTENHAM 1-0 WOLVES (50’)
Alli shoves Moutinho and gives away a free kick close to touch on the right, deep in Spurs’ half. Moutinho whips the set piece into the box and Hojbjerg heads clear. But Wolves keep the attack alive, and when the ball is sent back into the area Saiss has a free header. He can only guide his effort straight at Lloris, though.

HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 1-0 WOLVES
And that’s it for the first half. Wolves have defended admirably, particularly Coady, but a momentary lapse in concentration has allowed Kane to give Spurs the lead. Ryan Mason will hope his side have enough to see out the remainder of the game, though the visitors have looked a threat through Traore and Silva.

GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-0 WOLVES (KANE 45’)
Coady can do nothing to deny Spurs this time! Kane is sent racing onto a through ball in behind the Wolves defence, sits Patricio down and slides his finish into an empty net. A typically cool finish puts the hosts in front.

TOTTENHAM 0-0 WOLVES (44’)
Close! Wolves fail to properly clear a corner and Kane nods a header past Patricio from a couple of yards out. It looks a certain goal but Coady gets a cross to block off the line. Moments later, the Wolves captain blocks another off the line as the ball is whipped in from the right flank.
At the other end, Silva breaks into the box but puts his effort wide.
