Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici makes Ryan Gravenberch top target as Spurs 'ready offer'

Tottenham transfer supremo Fabio Paratici has turned his attention towards future targets just weeks after a busy summer in north London. And the club’s sporting director is believed to be particularly keen on Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch.

Gravenberch broke through as a prospect at Ajax in 2019 before cementing his place in the first XI last season.

The 19-year-old has made 65 appearances to date for the Dutch club, scoring 10 goals. And the all-action midfielder’s performances are believed to have caught the eye of clubs across Europe.

The Netherlands international is in the penultimate year of his contract and could be sold for a cut price next summer if Ajax are unable to secure him to a new deal.

And Spurs director of football is claimed by Fichajes to have made Gravenberch one of his biggest priorities in Tottenham’s ongoing squad overhaul.

Premier League winners and losers as Ronaldo shines, Spurs fall apart

New Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been utilising a midfield partnership of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp so far this season, with Dele Ali the third midfield option in the team’s opening three games, and Harry Winks added for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

But the midfield make-up of Nuno’s Spurs has lacked creativity, with the team scoring just three league goals in for games so far in the campaign.

And the need for future reinforcements in the centre of the park was underlined by a lacklustre performance by the midfield selection in Saturday’s defeat to Palace.

Spurs dropped their first points of the Premier League season with the dramatic 3-0 loss at Selhurst Park.

And a lack of quality in midfield was stark, with Tottenham mustering just a single shot on target in the whole match and just two attempts in total.

Nuno will hope to see his side bounce back in the short-term against Rennes in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, prior to hosting Chelsea in the Premier League next weekend.

But Paratici has his sights set further ahead and hopes that Gravenberch could be the answer to Tottenham’s midfield problems.
