Jose Mourinho says he has been told what formation Chelsea will employ against Tottenham on Saturday but has refused to reveal the source of the leak.

The Spurs manager is something of a legendary figure at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles over two spells at the club.

He takes his current side to the Bridge on Saturday lunchtime and says he has been given a helping hand by someone who knows how the Blues will line up.

The Portuguese claims to know that Chelsea will play five at the back against his Tottenham team, but will not reveal the mole in the Blues’ camp.

‘The same way you have a lot of news and you don’t tell the sources,’ Mourinho told reporters in a pre-match press conference.

‘Tomorrow the same. I was told the same. I was told they were back to a back five which is what they normally do when their results are not the best.

‘They did that when they went to Lille, they did that when they came to us, a system they played for a few of us, and are very comfortable with.

‘It is a system very adapted to their routine and the qualities of their players, but they have so many options that they can do what the manager decides to do.’

Mourinho has his own tactics to worry about against Chelsea, with Spurs amid something of a striker crisis due to injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

That leaves teenager Troy Parrott as the only recognised striker in the squad while Mourinho can deploy the likes of Lucas Moura or Erik Lamela in advanced positions.

‘At the moment we don’t have many options to think in the game on the tactical approach,’ the manager continued.

‘We have what we have, with the players I have available, we have to try to build a competitive team.

‘The situation is difficult. I think nobody else in the Premier League for sure, but even in European football, is in such a difficult situation as we are in terms of injuries in specific positions.

‘If we manage to finish fourth without Harry and Sonny it would be something incredible, incredible achievement for the boys.’

The derby kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
