At least five big European clubs are looking to snap up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month, after the Arsenal striker confirmed that his heart is fine after some health concerns arising at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 32-year-old returned to London from AFCON with reported heart lesions after a positive Covid test, but a string of medical examinations in the UK have cleared up any worry.

Aubameyang posted on Instagram on Thursday: ‘Hi guys, I came back to London to do some additional checks, and I’m very happy to say that my heart is absolutely fine and I’m completely healthy!!

‘Really appreciate all the messages over the last few days and I’m already back at it.’

While it is excellent news that the Gabon striker is healthy, it does not clear up his future, having been exiled from the Arsenal first team picture last month after disciplinary issues.

There is no shortage of teams looking to capitalise on his situation with the Gunners, with Sky Sports reporting that AC Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Sevilla are all interested in the forward.

The report also stated that contact had already been made over completing a move, although did not state which of those clubs had made that contact.

Aubameyang has not played for Arsenal since the defeat to Everton on 6 December, and Mikel Arteta showed no real signs of looking to welcome him back into the fold before he left for AFCON and suffered his health concerns.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers for their former captain, who has 18 months left on his current contract, thought to earn him up to £350,000-a-week.

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have made a bid to sign the striker on loan until the end of the campaign, but the Gunners have not accepted it as yet.
