If you are packing a box with items of different weights, you should pack the heavier items at the bottom and the lighter items at the top.

It should prevent the lighter items from being crushed. Even better, the heavier items should be properly supported when you carry the boxes. If you overpack the boxes, you will also have a hard time stacking them properly in the van.

3. Wrap Fragile Items Properly

Before packing any fragile or delicate items in the box, make sure they are well-protected. Use acid-free tissue paper or bubble wrap to protect vases, glasses and china. It should be able to prevent dulling of your china pieces and any breakage during transportation.
