Tezos Founder Commits to Altruistic Art – ICO Examiner News

Kathleen Breitman, Co-founder of Tezos (XTZ), is the latest blockchain illuminary to try their hand at producing non fungible token (NFT) iconic art to be auctioned off through the Cryptograph platform.

At the time of publication, bidding for Breitman’s artistic rendition of the Tezos logo stood at 5 ETH with around 10 hours of the sale still remaining.

As with all art sold by Cryptograph – who are backed by social enterprise Perpetual Altruism – a portion of the sale proceeds will go to artist’s charity of choice. In Breitman’s case, it will be New York based Covenant House, a charity providing housing and support to vulnerable young people, who will be the beneficiary.

Transfer Loop of Value

Other blockchain personalities participating in the current auction are the Co-founder of Augur (REP) Jeremy Gardner, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) advocate Roger Ver, Web 3.0 proponent Evan Van Ness, Co-founder of Melon (MLN) Mona El Isa, and Co-founder of investment firm Coinfund, Jake Brukhman.

Cryptograph enables artists to commit their work to the Ethereum blockchain in the form of an ERC-721 token. The project has also implemented an extension to the token in the form of an ERC-2665 transfer function which allows for fees to be levied each time the artwork is re-sold, sending additional donations to the charity, the platform, and the original creator.

The previous, and first, auction to be organised by Cryptograph, was highly successful with a sketch illustrating Quadratic Funding by Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin fetching over 77 ETH.

Last month, Cryptograph Co-founder Hugh McDonaugh said “We are witnessing the beginnings of a new content model for the internet…” and suggested that anything digital, “…such as a song, a video, an artwork, a piece of prose, a performance, a 3D design…” could be utilised.
