Tech startups cashing in on cannabis

The use of medical cannabis became legal in the UK in November 2018, yet it still remains very limited and can only be prescribed by the NHS in extreme circumstances.

Despite this, a number of tech startups have already started to take advantage of this vast (and growing) multi-billion market for cannabis products. They include Uber-style delivery platforms, review and information websites and researchers.

The UK has particularly seen a huge growth in the rise of bio-tech and healthtech startups launching to give people better access and understanding of cannabis-induced and plant-based medicines.
