Suzuki Motor Gujarat commences production from third unit at Ahmedabad facility


Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) has started production at its third assembly line in Gujarat to meet growing demand for vehicles in India.

With the commencement of production at the third line, which has an annual production ability of 250,000 units, Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG) now has the ability to produce total 750,000 units per annum. Together with Maruti Suzuki’s production ability of 1.5 million units, Suzuki’s production ability of automobiles in India stands at 2.25 million units.

All automobiles that will be produced in SMG will be supplied to Maruti Suzuki. “Suzuki will continuously meet the automobile market demand in India, which is estimated to grow further, and also encourage exportation to the global market, thus contributing to the “Make in India” initiative promoted by the Government of India”, SMC said in a statement.
