Stater Bros. Markets and its philanthropic arm, Stater Bros. Charities, are raising funds through Dec. 31 to support local food banks and hunger relief programs.
In the Harvesting Hope in Our Community campaign, kicked off Nov. 1, all Stater Bros. Markets are collecting monetary donations. Customers and employees can contribute at any Stater Bros. checkstand by donating loose change in coin canisters, adding a $5 donation card during checkout or scanning the QR code, according to a news release.
Donations may also be made online at app.mobilecause.com/form/E0vayw?vid=dztr7 or by texting STATER to 41444.
“It has been a challenging year, given the pandemic and the impact it’s had on the health and well-being of our communities. Families are struggling to put food on the table due to job loss, furloughs and school closures, and worry about where their next meal is coming from,” Nancy Negrette, chairman and president of Stater Bros. Charities, said in the news release.
Funds raised throughout the campaign will support food banks and will provide relief to help families put food on the table, pay bill, and meet other basic needs.
The campaign’s food bank partners are Community Action Partnership of Kern County; Feeding America of Riverside l San Bernardino Counties; FIND Food Bank; Inland Harvest Food Bank; Los Angeles Regional Food Bank; San Diego County Food Bank; Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County; and the Salvation Army.
Funds will also support other food banks and hunger-relief programs on a smaller scale, according to the news release.
