Staggering money Man Utd will make if Wilfried Zaha completes summer move

Manchester United are in line for a ‘huge windfall’ if Wilfried Zaha leaves Crystal Palace this summer.

The 28-year-old believes he does not have a future at Selhurst Park and has told the club he wants a new challenge, reports The Times.

Zaha, who has two years left on his current deal, has been previously linked with a move to Arsenal and Spurs but Palace have been able to fend off interest for their prized asset.

But this could finally be the summer he moves as chairman Steve Parish is willing to listen to offers if they’re at the right price.

And that could be good news for United who inserted a 25% sell-on fee when he left Old Trafford to join Palace, according to Manchester Evening News.

United originally bought Zaha from the South London club in 2013 for £10.58million but he struggled to make an impact in Manchester and after loan spells at Cardiff and Palace, he was sold back to the club in 2015 for £6m.

The Red Devils put the clause in the £6million deal which Palace would later ask them to waive in talks over the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019.

United stuck to their guns, however, and are now in line for a tasty cash boost if Zaha seals his exit this summer.

The winger was instrumental for the Eagles once again this season with 11 goals in 30 games from the left-hand side.

Palace have previously valued him around the £40m mark and if that’s the type of money he goes for, United could receive up to £10m.

The club also have a sell-on clause on Romelu Lukaku, who has been linked with a return to the Premier League with either Chelsea or Manchester City since the season concluded.

The Belgian’s future was up in the air after Antonio Conte left Inter following their Serie A title victory with reports the Italians are looking to offload several players due to their financial issues.

But Lukaku insists he is going nowhere and he has held positive talks with Conte’s successor and former Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi.

He told HLN : “Yes, I am staying. I’ve already had contact with the man who becomes our new manager (after Antonio Conte’s exit). Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation.”
