Funds to the tune of Rs 6 crore were awarded to 103 startups as the Education Department distributed grants to startups at the i-Hub complex in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Ninety-seven new organisations were added to the list of grantees, raising the total to 297 beneficiaries under the state’s Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0.

The event also marked the disbursement of funds up to Rs 1.44 crore for the financial year to 16 education institutions (15 from technical education and 1 from higher education).

Also, allotment letters for co-working spaces within the 1.5 lakh square feet i-Hub building designed to house 500 startups simultaneously were issued. Ten startups were given allotment letters.
