Share market update: Private bank shares trade mixed; Yes Bank falls 8%

NEW DELHI: Most of the private banks were trading on a mixed note in Friday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Yes Bank (down 7.97 per cent) , RBL Bank (down 6.22 per cent) , IDFC Bank (down 1.57 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (down 1.4 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 0.78 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.63 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.61 per cent) , HDFC Bank (up 0.9 per cent) , City Union Bank (up 0.71 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.03 per cent down at 17,522.35 around 12:33 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30.90 points at 11,987.50, while the BSE Sensex was down 99.65 points at 40,679.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JSPL, SBI, Bank of Baroda, ZEEL, Bharti Infratel, SAIL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
