Why it is important to keep a note of the charges

Apart from those mentioned above, post office savings schemes also include Senior Citizens Savings Scheme (SCSS), Public Provident Fund (PPF), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) etc.

The finance ministry, in a circular dated May 13, 2016, said that with effect from July 1, 2016, KVP and NSC certificates will not be issued in a physically pre-printed form. They will either be issued in the ‘exclusive e-mode’ or ‘passbook mode’. So, if you are someone who has lost their NSC certificate or if it is in a mutilated condition, then you will have to get it re-issued in a passbook form, where you will have to pay Rs 10 per registration.
