Sensex plunges 1,939 pts on global selloff, Nifty ends below 14,550; VIX spikes 23%


The freefall on the BSE Sensex continued towards the fag end of the trade on Friday with the BSE Sensex losing over 2,000 points. The frenzy in the Indian equities followed a global sell-off after a massive jump in the 10-year bond yields in the US. Sensex crashed 1,939.32 pts to end at 49,099.99. Similarly, Nifty tanked 568.20 pts to 14,529.15.
