Samsung says it holds 40pc of local smartphone market – Myanmar Times

Ko Zarni Win Htet, head of the IT and mobile group for Samsung Myanmar, said the company has captured more than 60pc of the high-end smartphone market and up to 40pc of the entire market.

He said the company’s A series model is the most in demand in the country, and Samsung wants to market products that appeal to all social classes.

“We are leading the local market, and we hope to maintain that lead during the next three years,” he added.

Local demand for smartphones is increasing in Myanmar as personal income grows, he said.
