Romelu Lukaku is keen to join Juventus if Manchester United decide to sell him at the end of the season, according to reports.

The 25-year-old, who was signed in an initial £75 million deal from Everton, has scored just nine goals this season.

The Belgium international has also lost his place as United’s first-choice striker since Jose Mourinho’s departure, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring Marcus Rashford to spearhead the attack.

According to The Sun, United are considering selling Lukaku this summer.

And the Belgian’s preferred destination would be a move to Juventus.

A source at United told The Sun: ‘He is an absolutely massive fan of Ronaldo.

‘He has lost his regular spot but not rocked the boat at all so far.

‘The feelers are already out in both camps. We’ll have to wait and see but it’s going to be a busy summer.’

Meanwhile, Solskjaer is confident that Lukaku can find his best form for the rest of the season after the striker admitted that he put on too much muscle ahead of Belgium’s World Cup campaign last summer.

‘I can understand why, when you go to a World Cup and see the teams you play, the physicality might take over in terms of your preparation,’ said Solskjaer.

‘We ask our forwards to work at a higher intensity, to run in behind, but that’s what he likes, so I’m sure he’ll be fine.

‘Muscle is not so difficult to get rid of. He’s lean, but he’s muscly.

‘We’ll get him in the box and scoring us goals, that’ll be his job.’
