Real Madrid have THREE ways of beating Barcelona in Copa del Rey El Clasico clash

Real Madrid and Barcelona face off in the Copa del Rey this evening with the tie in the balance after an intriguing first leg at the Nou Camp.

Los Blancos appeared set to claim a huge win after Lucas Vazquez fired them in front after just six minutes.

But Real Madrid were pegged back when Malcom struck for Barcelona with just over 30 minutes of the match remaining.

Many have Barcelona as favourites for tonight’s game but Express Sport delves into three ways Real Madrid can rock the Catalan giants at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid must give Vinicius Jr a platform

It has been a tough season for Real Madrid so far but, amid the turbulent, has been the shining light of Samba star Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian has been in fine form this term, with his pace and potency drawing comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo.

And he caused Barcelona problems in the first leg at the Nou Camp.

Vinicius will be eager to further endear himself to Real supporters when Ernesto Valverde’s side come to town.

And his trickery on the flanks could be key to their chances of making the Copa del Rey final.

Real Madrid have to start Gareth Bale

Amid Real’s chaotic season, no player has been in the spotlight more than Gareth Bale.

The Wales international has struggled but rose to the fore as Levante were beaten on Sunday.

Bale netted the winner that night from the penalty spot and could now start against Barcelona.

Given how much he has to prove, the game could come at the perfect time.

And Bale has shown in the past that, when at his best, he is able to hurt the Catalan giants.

Real Madrid need to keep Lionel Messi quiet

Obviously, keeping Barcelona star Lionel Messi quiet is easier said than done.

But Real will need to somehow shackle the Argentine if they are to make the final.

The 31-year-old was ruthless against Sevilla on Sunday, scoring a hat-trick to boost Barcelona’s chances of retaining the La Liga title.

And Real will need Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Casemiro to all work together to keep Messi quiet.

Whether they can, though, remains to be seen.
