Real Madrid president Florentino Perez openly joked about signing Eden Hazard this summer, while having lunch with Chelsea officials.

The La Liga giants are determined to seal the transfer of the Belgium international during the coming months and hope to strike a cut-price deal for the 28-year-old who is in the final year of his contract.

Reports claim Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is resigned to selling him in the summer transfer window following an opening offer from Los Blancos and it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Hazard is keen to join the 13-time European champions.

Club president Perez is incredibly relaxed about the situation and he cracked a joke to Chelsea delegates after the two clubs announded the 10th edition of the Corazon Classic Match, which will feature legends from both clubs at the Santiago Bernabeu in June.

Though Chelsea are not particularly pleased with Hazard being continually linked with a move to Spain, that didn’t stop Perez from finding the light-hearted side of the situaion, according to AS.

It’s believed the Blues want £98.5million for the Belgian winger, who would not rule out a transfer when quizzed on a move to Real Madrid during the international break.

‘At the moment there’s nobody waiting for me,’ he said. ‘We still have two important months with Chelsea. We can win the Europa League.

‘We have to win the Europa League or we have to finish in the top four to play in the Champions League.

‘I am only thinking about that (last two months with Chelsea), not about what might happen in two, three, four months. I don’t know. We will see.’
