Passengers injured in Laporte crash – Park Rapids Enterprise

Two passengers were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Laporte.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report, the accident was reported at 2:07 p.m. on Nov. 28 on State Hwy. 200 at Main Street in Laporte.

The report states that an eastbound 2019 Ford Edge, driven by Terrance Klefsas, 72, of Laporte, failed to yield at a sign at the dog-leg in the highway, causing it to collide with a westbound 2006 Chevy Impala driven by Christopher Kennedy, 60, of Belgrade, Minn.

Neither driver was injured. However, Debra Kennedy, 56, a passenger in the Impala, and Janet Klefsas, 67, a passenger in the Edge, both sustained injuries described as non-life threatening, and Kennedy was transported via ambulance to Sanford Health in Bemidji.

Assisting at the scene were the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Lakeport Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Lakeport Emergency Medical Responders.
