Over 20% return in five years

Around seven equity mutual fund categories gave over 20% return in a five year horizon (March 2019 – March 2024), an analysis by ETMutualFunds showed.

Infrastructure Funds

Infrastructure funds offered an average return of 23.05% in five years. There were 18 schemes in the category that have completed five years of existence. Quant Infrastructure Fund delivered 33.57%. UTI Infrastructure Fund gave the lowest return of around 18.74% in five years.

Technology funds delivered an average return of 22.99% in five years. There were five schemes in the category that completed five years of existence. Aditya Birla Sun Life Digital India Fund gave the highest return of 23.69%. SBI Technology Opportunities Fund gave the lowest return of 22.07%.

Pharma & Health Care funds

Pharma & health care funds gave an average return of 22.91% in five years. There were eight schemes in the category during the said period. DSP Healthcare Fund, the topper in the category,offered 25.68%. LIC MF Healthcare Fund gave the lowest return of 18.63%

Energy & Power Funds

Energy & power sector based funds offered an average return of 22.50% in a five year horizon. There were three schemes in the category. Nippon India Power & Infra Fund gave 25.60%, Tata Resources & Energy Fund gave 22.15% and DSP Natural Resources & New Energy Fund gave 19.74%.

Mid cap funds gave an average return of 21.09% in a five year period. There were 22 mid cap funds in a five year period. Quant Mid Cap Fund gave the highest return of 29.33%. DSP Midcap Fund gave the lowest return of 16.15%.

Contra funds gave an average return of 20.51% in five years. Three contra funds completed five years in the market. SBI Contra Fund gave 24.69%. Kotak India EQ Contra Fund and Invesco India Contra Fund gave 19.49% and 17.36% returns, respectively.
