'Now is the time to get jabs into arms of all who risk lives for essential jobs'

Giving early vaccinations to teachers, police officers and other frontline workers will keep them safe and is right for Britain.

After inoculating our health and care workers plus the oldest and most medically vulnerable people, let’s call up the millions who risk their lives to do essential jobs.

That includes firefighters, shop workers, bus and rail staff, street cleaners, taxi drivers, factory workers, prison officers and everybody else without the option of working from home.

We want schools to reopen as soon as it is safe, and vaccinated teachers are less likely to take sick leave or be forced to self-isolate.

Now is the moment for the Government to tweak existing plans and get jabs into the arms of those who come into contact with other people and, in some occupations, endure heavier death tolls.

Sort it out, Prime Minister.

It shows that none of us needs to stick to the script our forefathers followed.
