Newton County Authorities on the Hunt for Attempted Murder Suspect – Enterprise-Tocsin


NEWTON COUNTY, Miss. – The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Tayla Olivea Jackson, wanted for attempted murder. The request follows a violent incident that took place on Feb. 5, where Jackson is alleged to have shot a female victim after an argument at a residence on Newton Bethel Road.

Described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, Tayla Olivea Jackson, born on July 22, 2005, is the focus of an intense search by local law enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office has circulated a wanted poster bearing Jackson’s image and details.

Sheriff Joedy Pennington has asked the community for vigilance and support in apprehending Jackson, who is considered dangerous.

Individuals with any knowledge of Jackson’s whereabouts are urged to contact the Newton County Sheriff’s Office at 601-635-2101.
