New York’s most expensive penthouse sold
A five-bedroom luxury penthouse suite in New York’s West Village has sold for £23.5 million.
The luxury property was previously owned by billionaire Steven Cohen, a hedge-fund manager worth an estimated £10 million.
A quick sale
It sold in just 32 days – the quickest resale of 2019 for apartments over £4.7 million.
The luxury three-storey penthouse apartment was renovated to a high standard in 2013 and designed to exhibit Cohen’s impressive collection of artwork, with gallery walls throughout.
Blurred out artwork
The artwork on show in the triplex flat is so high profile that the pieces had to be blurred out in the images.
Built in 1906
The five-bedroom mansion is located in The Abingdon and also features museum quality lighting to show the priceless works of art to their best advantage.
Entire floor for entertaining
As well as an entrance foyer featuring 30ft ceilings, the luxury flat also features an entire parlour floor for entertaining…
… and a large kitchen fitted with all the mod cons.
Meanwhile the buyers can also take advantage of a recreation room, private gym, laundry room and library.
Plenty of space
The master bedroom suite takes up a staggering 1,200sq ft of space.
The 9,600sq ft apartment was originally built by acclaimed American architect Ralph S Townsend in 1906.

Buyers are advised to make an offer as soon as possible, because the first Cricket World Cup game at Lord’s takes place on June 23, between Pakistan and South Africa.
