New round of layoffs at Wallingford med-tech firm – Hartford Business

More job cuts have been announced at Wallingford med-tech company Respironics Novametrix LLC, with 32 workers set to lose their jobs by Dec. 18, according to a notice filed this week with the state’s Department of Labor.

Parent company Philips announced earlier this year that it would shut down its facility at 5 Technology Dr., due to a reorganization of its hospital respiratory care business.

The layoffs started in March and will end when the plant shuts down in June 2021. A total of 25 of those set to be laid off in this round are production workers, with machine operators, maintenance technicians and other staff making up the rest.

According to the notices, the company is offering severance and other benefits, including outplacement services, to all the affected employees.
