More chilly weather Sunday – Enterprise-Tocsin

Another chilly, dreary day across the Delta…Drizzle/mist will continue throughout the day as clouds remain over the region. Highs will hold on the upper 50’s and lower 60’s. Overnight lows will be in the lower 50’s.

Clouds look to remain in place to start off the new week. Highs Monday will be in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s with lows in the mid 50’s.

Sunshine should return Tuesday with highs in the lower 70’s and lows in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s.

A front will approach the area mid-week, and rain chances will increase. We could also feel impacts from Tropical Storm Zeta as it is expected to reach the Gulf Coast Wednesday. Exact track remains uncertain; landfall could occur anywhere from approximately Lafayette, Louisiana and Pensacola, Florida. If it tracks to the west, we will see higher impacts; if it tracks farther East, impacts will be less. The latest track has shifted a little further East.

Due to cooler water temperature and wind shear, Zeta will remain a weak storm, with strengthening only to a Category 1 hurricane as it enters the Gulf of Mexico.

As the frontal system and Zeta exit late Thursday into Friday, drier air will filter in and highs will be in the lower and middle 60’s Thursday into next weekend with lows in the 40’s and mostly sunny skies…God bless
