Moda Living, the UK’s fastest growing housing brand focused on the design, delivery and custodianship of Next Generation Neighbourhoods has formed a technology partnership for its UK wide GBP2.5 billion residential portfolio with Samsung.
Once considered a futuristic fantasy, the Smart home is becoming a reality for millions of people around the UK.
The rise in popularity of Smart speakers, lighting and thermostats has opened the door for consumers to enter the connected home and see its true potential.
Now Moda and Samsung are working together to build entire neighbourhoods equipped for the future, underpinned by innovation. With technology now weaved into all aspects of our day-to-day lives, residents expect higher quality and better efficiency in every purchase that they make.
This couldn’t be truer for the residential sector, where Moda Living has raised the bar with its Next Generation Neighbourhoods and a fundamental part of the partnership with Samsung includes bespoke product offerings to suit the needs of residents.
Moda neighbourhoods will offer a range of fully furnished tech-enabled apartments in addition to several communal facilities such as lounges, dining rooms, gyms, and flexible workspaces for maximum convenience and to help create a sense of community.
Samsung’s appliances are currently present in every apartment and communal space in Moda’s Angel Gardens neighbourhood, its flagship in the prime BTR platform, including the Samsung Built-In Fridge Freezer with Total No Frost, which maintains an even temperature, preventing ice build-up and removing the need for defrosting. The Samsung Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 13 Place Settings, which will also save users time and energy washing dishes with the half load option, while the Induction hob and Solo microwave can provide alternative ways to prepare food, for greater flexibility. Each apartment houses a 50-inch Samsung 4K Smart TV included in the rent.
Moda has also integrated Samsung appliances within its new penthouse apartments such as Samsung’s Dual Cook Flex™ and the Family Hub™ refrigerator, with Smart features including a WiFi enabled touchscreen and in-built cameras.
Oscar Brooks, Director at Moda Living: “Moda’s core focus is to create stylish, high-quality, sustainable neighbourhoods for residents to live, work and play, but we also recognise the importance of investing in state-of-the-art technology to enhance connectivity, simplicity and efficiency in residents’ day to day lives. Championing innovation and beautiful design, Samsung presented a natural partner to supply appliances in-keeping with our future-thinking values and aesthetics.
“This year we hosted exclusive socially distanced Samsung screenings on our roof terrace, which have helped tackled loneliness during lockdown and keep our community connected during a difficult time. Our number one priority is for technology to help Moda’s residents to feel happy and safe in their home, whilst making their lives that bit easier. The proposition of the Smart home is important for our future residents and will help distinguish our brand from the competition. Samsung is setting new standards for connected living and we are looking forward to driving our partnership forward.”
Murtaza Bukhari, GM, Strategic Partnerships at Samsung UK & Ireland, says: “Moda’s focus on ‘future planning’ for the positive physical and mental health of their residents before the pandemic even unfolded was so refreshing. The fact that their focus is on the wellbeing of the community really resonated with Samsung’s vision. Moda recognises that people buy Smart products not because they are ‘Smart’, but because the added features bring them the benefits they value. They understand that their residents want to feel safe, secure, save time and money, but remain connected to families and friends.
Ralf Elias, VP, Global IOT Business Development & Partnerships at Samsung Electronics, says: “At Samsung, we are committed to continuously innovating with our products and services to allow our customers to build their perfect Smart home to enhance wellbeing. It’s our aim to change the way people live and give purpose to connected living. Collaborating with Moda provides us with a scale portfolio to see where we, and our product range can add the most value.”
There is now a pipeline wide supplier agreement in place for more than 60,000 appliances spanning Moda’s neighbourhoods across the living sector. The partnership was agreed at Samsung HQ in South Korea and the brand is already working across several thousand apartments in its platform. The goal is to build a truly smart ecosystem by giving residents everything they need without leaving their Moda neighbourhoods.
