All you need to do to get the discount food is to fill out a survey and tell McDonald’s what you think about its grub.

When you get a receipt, you’ll see a 12 digit unique code, which you’ll need to enter on the fast food chain’s “Food for Thought” website.

You will then be prompted to fill in a survey about your last meal.

Once completed you are given a five digit code, which you’ll need to jot down on the same receipt – bring this with you next time you visit a Maccies.

McDonald’s first started doing its £1.99 Big Mac and fries offer in 2017.

“Doing the survey doesn’t take more than two minutes.”

Brisbenta also claims you can swap the Big Mac for another burger on the menu.

When we asked McDonald’s if this was true, they said this is down the discretion of the restaurant manager.

She said: “Yes, you have option to change the burger. Sometimes I change it to a Quarter Pounder.”

The post has since been liked more than 1,000 times by fellow McDonald’s fans, who say they’ll definitely be taking advantage of the offer.

One person said: “We need to start keeping receipts.”

Another commented: “I do this with every receipt… fab!”

A third said: “Mine does ANY extra value meal option so Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish and McChicken Sandwich.”

If you don’t get a receipt for your next McDonald’s meal, you can ask your cashier for one.
