Manchester United are reportedly in talks with sports data company Ludonautics who are run by former Liverpool transfer chiefs.

Following his minority takeover of the club, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is overhauling United’s boardroom and recruitment set-up.

The INEOS owner has already appointed Omar Berrada from Manchester City to be chief executive and appears to have also poached Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth.

The Red Devils are also set to approach Crystal Palace for Dougie Freedman in order to make him head of recruitment.

United’s transfer policy under the Glazers has been widely criticised and derided, especially with rival clubs like Liverpool signing far better players for far cheaper prices.

Ratcliffe hopes to turn the tables and according to the Daily Mail has been in discussion with the sports advisory and statistical analysis company Ludonautics.

Ludonautics was only founded last year, but is run by Liverpool’s former Director of Research Dr Ian Graham, who was based at Anfield for 11 years.

Furthermore, the Reds’ former sporting director Michael Edwards also works for the business as a consultant, with him and Graham widely credited with helping Liverpool identify many of their world-class stars.

This includes the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson, who were pivotal to their Premier League and Champions League success and were relatively inexpensive.

It is not known whether United have made a formal offer to hire Ludonautics, but they are not currently working for the club.

The company have already been appointed by several clubs across Europe to provide valuable analytics but they ave not discloses their list of clients.

It is said that Ratcliffe and co. are still speaking with a number of data and analytics providers.

Back on the pitch, United will be looking to close the gap to the top four on Saturday when they host Everton in the early kick-off.
