Man Utd post three-word message to Bruno Fernandes after costly stoppage-time penalty miss

Perhaps the pressure got to Fernandes, with United needing a result after recent defeats by West Ham and Swiss minnows Young Boys within their past three games.

The Portuguese’s wayward strike made that three defeats in four, having abandoned his usual hop before hitting the ball in the depths of stoppage time.

Pressure will now mount on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who must face an extremely tough 12-game run which will see them take on Villarreal twice, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, among others.

Such slip-ups cannot be tolerated if they are to keep pace with the early front-runners in the Premier League.
