Manchester United crushed Tranmere to secure their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The clash at Prenton Park appeared to be set up for an upset with United out of form and the pitch in far from pristine condition.
But United cruised to a 6-0 win, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men scoring five in the first half.
Harry Maguire opened the scoring with a stunning long-range drive before Diogo Dalot poked home from the angle.
Jesse Lingard added a third inside 16 minutes and Phil Jones then looped a header over the stranded Scott Davies.
There was still time for Anthony Martial to find the net before the break and Mason Greenwood got in on the act in the second half from the penalty spot.

A bit busier than the scoreline suggests but safe as usual.
Was given a real test for a few early moments but then comfortable.
MOTM – Will never strike an effort more sweetly than he did for his goal.
Booked. Head to toe in mud, booked, clobbered, very Phil Jones.
Couple of early issues but a classy finish for a rare goal.
Quietly ran the midfield show with some considerable authority.
Found this opposition easier going than most and relished it.
An extremely welcome goal and a competent all-round display.
Enjoyed the chance to get forward even more than he usually .
Operated at half-speed and still too warm for Rovers to handle.
Not at his most predatory but was given a welcome penalty to convert.
