Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has four specific reasons for wanting the signing of Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier, according to reports. The Red Devils have already made a flying start to the summer transfer window. And more reinforcements are being eyed as they target Premier League title glory next term.
Manchester United have signed Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho so far, while also agreeing a deal to land Real Madrid star Raphael Varane.
And, now, they’re hopeful Trippier will be next.

Thirdly, United rate Trippier for his versatility – believing the former Tottenham star can offer them ‘greater attacking impetus’ from the right-back slot.
And they’re also sold on his signing because of the fact he can benefit Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who needs more competition in order to evolve.
Wan-Bissaka’s defensive traits are unquestionable but, offensively, the former Crystal Palace star still has plenty of learning to do.
Trippier is said to be willing to sit tight for now and wait and see whether United are able to secure a deal.
The Red Devils need to sell before they buy, having already spent big on Sancho and Varane – who were their priority targets at the start of the transfer window.

And whether they end up landing the 30-year-old remains to be seen.
Speaking recently, meanwhile, QPR striker Charlie Austin urged United to sign Trippier amid doubts over whether Wan-Bissaka is good enough for the club.
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not up to the [required] quality,” he said.
“We played them the other day, and I know it was only a pre-season friendly, but they need to go all out for Kieran Trippier.
“That’s who they’re crying out for. He [Aaron Wan-Bissaka] can’t defend!
“His final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants. They need to go and sign Kieran Trippier.”
When Ray Parlour grilled Austin over whether Wan-Bissaka’s performance was just a bad day, Austin then added: “You can always have a bad game, it was just a pre-season friendly.
“With all due respect, if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is your right-back, are Man United going to go on and win Premier Leagues and win silverware? I’m not too sure.
“They need to strengthen there, definitely.”
United also want to sign a midfielder amid links to Ruben Neves, Eduardo Camavinga, Declan Rice and Saul Niguez.
