MAN UTD 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

5: Nice little passage from the Cherries, who nick the ball off Paul Pogba deep inside their own territory. Josh King, who was of course linked with a transfer to Manchester United in January, makes the yards but there’s nothing to trouble David de Gea.

3: One positive for Bournemouth is that they are sporting their snazzy new away kit. It’s electric green or perhaps blue (if that’s a thing) and the ‘vivid graphic print on the shirt takes inspiration from the location of the football club’ says the club’s website. It’s… yeah… it’s fine.

It’s been a steady start on the field with Manchester United taking their time to build from the back.

MAN UTD 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

1: Aaaaaand we’re underway at Old Trafford. As we all know, the bigger the empty stadium – the more eerie and unnatural it feels…

Bournemouth will have to forget about that and fight and scrap for every ball. They need points and they need them badly. As for Manchester United – they just need more of the same.

Do the unselfish bits

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about his decision to field the same starting XI for a third-consecutive Premier League game.

“I’ve got many reasons to play them,” he told MUTV. “But it’s also difficult to leave players out who have done so well. This eleven played so well against Brighton, there’s no problems and everyone is 100% now.

“Go out, work hard and do all the unselfish bits that we’ve always seen from the best Manchester United teams. That’s one of the biggest attributes we’ve had over the years.

“I want my team and my players to work harder than the opposition – then the quality will shine through.”

What’s on?

Lots. Lots of football is on the television for a change…

Norwich vs Brighton has reached the final five minutes. The Seagulls are winning 1-0 courtesy of a Leandro Trossard goal. If things stay the same then that surely relegates the Canaries and sees Graham Potter’s side safe.

The other 3pm KO is Leicester vs Crystal Palace. After that we get to see if Arsenal really have turned the corner with a tricky visit to Wolves. Chelsea host Watford in the final clash of the day.

Twitter reaction

Paul: Glad to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking Bournemouth seriously, still don’t mess this up!

Paul: Credit to Solskjaer and Manchester United’s physio team. Getting Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes fit so quickly after career defining injuries only 24 hours ago! It’s a miracle!

Vieri: Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata all maintain their natural position on the bench.

Those are different Paul’s if you were wondering…

Callum Wilson serves the second game of his two-match ban.

That story…

Will they, won’t they? Are they, aren’t they? Listen I had the day off yesterday – so I managed to avoid this whirlwind rumour of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba being injured.

It all sounds like nonsense to me. We’ll find out what is actually happening in just a couple of minutes.

Afternoon…

Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester United vs Bournemouth from Old Trafford.

So… this should be a formality for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, right?

The Red Devils are enjoying a 15-match unbeaten run in all competitions and have been playing some vintage stuff.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have suffered 16 defeats in 21 league matches, including each of the last four.

On paper it’s a done deal – but football isn’t played on paper, eh? Hate myself for that cliched line. Standby for team news…

MAN UTD vs BOURNEMOUTH | TEAM NEWS

Manchester United could make changes for today’s visit of relegation-threatened Bournemouth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted he could make a few change when telling reporters: “I’ve got to wait and see,” Solskjaer said. “There are a couple that got some knocks and bruises, if there are a couple of changes don’t be surprised just because of fitness.

“But there are also so many games. I’ve got to look after the players.

“It would be nice to play a team that performed so well against Sheffield United at Old Trafford last time and played so well against Brighton, but let’s wait and see how everyone is after training, I’ve not seen them yet this morning.

“I’ve got many many reasons to play the same team but I’ve also got a few reasons to rotate one or two that played so well earlier in the season.”

Leading goalscorer Callum Wilson remains unavailable as he completes a two-match suspension.
