Man dies in fiery Moreno Valley crash – Press-Enterprise

A man died following a fiery car crash in Moreno Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 11:38 p.m., deputies responded to a report a major-injury traffic collision at the intersection of Heacock Street and John F. Kennedy Drive. First responders arrived shortly after and started rescue efforts on the one involved vehicle, occupied only by the driver.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and the driver was later pronounced deceased, the Sheriff’s Department said. The identity of the deceased driver will later be released, pending notification to the next of kin.

The preliminary investigation revealed a light-colored Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound on Heacock Street at a high rate of speed, just south of John F. Kennedy Drive. The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a block wall, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The investigation is continuing. It wasn’t yet known if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to call Deputy Kevin Seguin of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-486-6700.
