Louis Saha believes Sergio Ramos will ‘galvanise’ whichever club he chooses to join next, amid speculation linking to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Ramos has left Real Madrid after 16 years at the Santiago Bernabeu and is available on a free transfer.

The Spanish defender, 35, has won every major title at club and international level with Real and his country.

He has won the Champions League four times, La Liga on five occasions, the Euros twice and the World Cup in a glittering career.

Ramos is now seeking the next chapter after years of glory in Madrid and United and Chelsea are both hoping he will move to the Premier League.

They face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, with Ramos thought to prefer a move to the French capital or to London.

That puts Chelsea in the driving seat ahead of United and Saha, the former United striker, thinks he can have a huge impact if he moves to Stamford Bridge.

‘If you see the impact of Thiago Silva at Chelsea, the impact of Sergio Ramos would be the same, or maybe even bigger,’ Saha told Gamblingdeals.com.

‘The guy is known for that type of leadership, has the ability to step up and score a lot of goals, he’s one of the best ever goalscoring defenders.

‘He’s a big player on the big stage. If you want to win trophies, he’s as strong a signing as Thiago Silva, and there are few players who can galvanise a club like this.

‘So whether it’s London or Paris, I think he’ll be an amazing signing.’
