Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be set for changes in several departments of his squad this summer, despite the main issues being at the back this year.
Klopp went into the season with three centre-halves in his squad, all of which have been sidelined for lengthy periods.
The absence of Virgil van Dijk has been the biggest blow and exposed the Reds’ defensive frailties.
However, there is a decision to be made in central-midfield as Georginio Wijnaldum edges closer to an exit when his contract expires.
And reports are suggesting there is serious interest in top goal scorer Mohamed Salah.
Kabak decision looms amid Konate agreement
Liverpool are faced with the decision over whether to make Ozan Kabak’s move permanent, having already reportedly agreed terms with RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the Reds have activated Konate’s £30m release clause, meaning they could decide against making Kabak a permanent addition for a further £18m, which had been agreed as part of his loan deal.
Klopp appeared to suggest over the weekend that Kabak had played his last game for the club, at least in this season, after sustaining a “long-term” injury.
“From the long-term injured, and unfortunately Ozan is a long-term, nobody is coming back I don’t think.”
Gini Wijnaldum’s £40m replacement
Anfield bosses have been told that they will need to spend £40million to sign Yves Bissouma from Brighton, who is being lined up to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Holland international is out of contract at the end of the season, and appears to have his heart set on joining Barcelona.
But The Sun report that he will come at a serious cost, with Graham Potter and co. unwilling to let him leave for any less than £40m.

Mohamed Salah is facing an uncertain future at Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window, and could be offered a route away from Anfield.
French outlet L’Equipe claims Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch with his representatives over a possible move.
While talks are only at a preliminary stage at the moment, PSG are sweating over the future of Kylian Mbappe, who will be out of contract in just over a year’s time.
With the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool, themselves, circling, it isn’t out of the question that Mbappe will decide to explore pastures anew, meaning PSG will be on the hunt for a new source of goals.
