Letter: Way to beat them when they’re down – Chico Enterprise-Record

It was fun to read the two letters in the Enterprise-Record on Tuesday regarding Rush Limbaugh. Yes he was controversial but he was also an entertainer and probably said things a lot of people didn’t like. But for many he just gave them a good laugh.

Late night comedians and network news are also entertainers but present views many disagree with. Was he really an enemy of our Constitution? Feminism may have started out about women’s rights but has been all about power for a long time. The same can be said for the NAACP who used to be about helping young college students but is now only about power. Whites are to blame for slavery? Slavery has been around since history has been written and still goes on today. England and the U.S. were the first two countries to outlaw it.

The fairness doctrine, really? Well I would hate to think you don’t know how to change the channel on your radio or TV. Or do you think people should only watch and listen to what meets your approval?

It is good to hear different opinions and different views. It enables anyone to make up their own mind whether you agree or disagree and you may learn something you didn’t know or look at a subject in a different way. That could enable you to think about something in a productive manner for everyone.  And alas I am glad to be able read what you have to write.
