HT: LEEDS 1-0 BURNLEY
Leeds got what they wanted from the first half as they picked up an early lead.
Patrick Bamford caught Burnley’s defence off guard and was brought down by Nick Pope inside the penalty area.
Referee pointed at the penalty spot and Bamford converted with a lovely finish after just five minutes.
The Whites dominated throughout the first half but were also lucky.
Illan Meslier lunged onto Ben Mee and the ball went to Ashley Barnes who then fired a powerful shot at the back of the net.
But the referee determined that Mee fouled Meslier at the build-up, which was a rather controversial call.
Burnley, though, have had a few chances to equalise and thus Leeds’ lead is in no way safe ahead of the second half
