Learn about the Mooney Museum during Facebook Live event –

WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County Historical Society will present “The Art and Architecture of the Mooney Museum” as a Facebook Live event beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at the Auglaize County Historical Society, 206 Main St., Wapakoneta.

What is now known as the Daniel Mooney Museum, 223 S. Main St., St. Marys, was constructed in 1876 for Charles and Mary Hipp. Hipp was a distinguished veteran of the Civil War and later a longtime St. Marys postmaster.

The event is presented in conjunction with National Historic Preservation Month and is free to the public. To view the event online, go to the Auglaize County Historical Society Facebook page ( a little before the start time. When the program is about to begin, a red box with the word LIVE will pop up, and the program will appear as the most current post on the page. Viewers should adjust their volume (on the screen), if needed.
