LET’S face it, summer is probably over – so it’s time to start looking forward to Christmas.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly activity, tickets have gone on sale for the Santa Special steam train ride, on the Bluebell Railway.
Families can tuck into mince pies, chocolate coins and Christmas punch on board the festive ride, which will run from Sheffield Park and East Grinstead stations to Horstead Keynes.
Kids will get to meet the bearded man himself and get a snap for the family Christmas card in his festive parlour during the two-hour experience.
The festive fun will begin on the train platform with classic Christmas tunes setting the theme, with ticket-holders then boarding a private eight to ten person cabin.
For those wanting to travel in style there are also a number of luxury first-class cabins that carry up to six people from Sheffield and up to eight from East Grinstead.
Of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without some presents either – every child on board gets to pick a gift straight from Santa’s workshop.
The first trains depart on November 27 and will run every weekend leading up to Christmas Eve, with extra daily trips from December 21.
Tickets cost from £130 for third-class cabins and from £170 for first-class.
